Goriska is a region in western Slovenia, bordering Italy, and is famous for its wine-producing hills in Goriska Brda and the emerald Soča River. Summers here are warm, averaging 25°C (77°F), making it perfect for whitewater rafting on the Soča or cycling through vineyards, while winters stay mild at around 5°C (41°F), ideal for exploring the World War I outdoor museum at Kobarid. In autumn, you can join the grape harvest in Brda's terraced vineyards, and in spring, hike to the source of the Soča near the Italian border.
